This purple beauty’s most accurate name would be “Cocaxonite Amethyst” or, even more accurately, “Geothite in Amethyst”. The stone was named before science clarified the exact composition - and the trade name Cocaxonite stuck! (It may also be known as “Ghost Amethyst”.)
