A: I use nature a lot of the time. Sometimes I will work in something I saw in a fashion magazine or a new technique I learned but I really like to keep things simple and show the material off.
A: Almost daily. I may not get to get my fingers in my beads and stones everyday, but I am always reading and learning new techniques and trends.
A: I like very natural colors and combinations. I like to theme my pieces to nature and the season. My favorite technique is stitching. I really love right angle weave due to its versatile nature and it’s quick to stitch! Lately, wire has been growing on me, too.
A: I am a jack-of-all-trades. I also design paper crafts, paint, do a little floral design. One of my passions is cooking and baking. I love to develop new recipes and post them on my blog.
A: One of the stones I work with most often is moonstone. I love its colors and fire. Really, I love them all. How can you choose just one?!?
A: For me, I think I love rounds. They are very easy to use and with just 4mm and 6mm beads, you can have a great design.
A: I would love to design jewelry for Elizabeth Taylor. She had such an appreciation for it.
I started beading with a kit from a local festival. I wasn’t happy with its simple outcome and took it into a local bead store and I was hooked. I have been beading for almost 20 years and I work in a variety of materials and techniques. My favorite beads are stones and crystals and my favorite technique is stitching.
I am currently co-editor of the Simply Beads Newsletter and in the process of writing my first book.
I live in my hometown of Fort Wayne, IN with my husband and three boys.
